Fun Friday: Celebrity Goat Owners

I know how much I love my goat kids, but goats aren't just fun for us regular folk!  Here is a list of three celebrities in love with goats!
Kelly Clarkson
Musician/American Idol winner

Kelly Clarkson is well known for her music, but did you know that the American Idol winner asked for a goat for Christmas in 2011? She named her new pygmy kid "Billy Joel" after the singer. Maybe he is the singing goat that has taken over the internet?

Tori Spelling, daughter of Aaron and Candy Spelling, married to Dean McDermott (actor and recent winner of Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off), mother of four and former star of Beverly Hills, 90210 and many reality shows is goat crazy!

She has two pygmy goats, both females named "Totes McGoat" and "Juliet". She has potty-trained the goats not to pee in the house, but you can't stop them from pooping. In the video below, she says you can be a chic woman and have a goat, even if her friends mock her for it.

Josh Kilmer-Purcell & Brent Ridge
"The Fabulous Beekman Boys"
Josh Kilmer-Purcell & Brent Ridge are the most recent winners of the Amazing Race. However you may also know them from their tv show, "The Fabulous Beekman Boys", where they give the audience full access to the insanity of farm life. The boys look fabulous no matter what comes their way, and wrote a book about the struggles of farming during the recession, called "The Bucolic Plague: How Two Manhattanites Became Gentlemen Farmers" which makes for a great read (even for non-goat owners).

3 different Summer themed goat milk products: buy them here!
They raise milk goats, with the help of Farmer John (seriously just go watch all the episodes online, this post can wait.) and make cheeses and soaps. They have a variety of breeds in their herd of milk goats, including Alpine, Saanen, Sable and Nubian. They sell their handmade goods in their store in Sharon Springs, NY and on their website, Beekman1802.com. Everything looks so beautiful!

They, like us, have had many new additions to their herd of goats. Check out on of their most recent videos they posted to their YouTube channel, Beekman 1802 of kids learning to walk.

If it doesn't work, click again to watch it on YouTube!

Does this encourages you to consider a goat for your next pet? Let me know in the comments, on Facebook or Twitter!
